Y2K - The computers do not know that the year is 1999 - they just know the last two digits - 99. So in the Year (Y) Two (2) Thousand (K - Greek initial for thousand), the last two digits will be - you guessed it! 00. So the computer will think it is 1900, instead of 2000. So, already a 109-year-old has been called to go to Kindergarden - the computer did it. And a prison inmate got out, instead of somebody else - because of computers. In England, 100 tons (I think) of corned beef was destroyed, becuase it was supposedly over one hundred years old - because of computers. So, this is just a Y2K PREVIEW. In the real Y2K, there will be no - electricity, running water, grocery store to buy food at, no nothing.
So, go throught this site, and be better prepared. And going to Canada isn't going to work - there is going to be a Y2K everywhere, on this globe, that we call planet Earth.
